What is the best way to clean pennies?

Ok, we've all got a jar somewhere in our houses--full to the brim of pennies! The last thing most people think of is "what is the best way to clean pennies?" In today's modern world where prices of almost everything continue to rise, the penny is looked upon as the lowest of the low, almost a type of garbage. Most people would rather that the price of something be rounded to the nearest nickel. However the copper penny seems to be inevitable to run across, so it's good to know how to clean it, should you ever feel in such a mood.

Pennies are best cleaned in some sort of acidic solution which will allow for the removal of that nasty copper oxide build up. The most common method is to soak the pennies in a solution of vinegar and salt, or lemon juice. Let those bad boys soak for a few minutes and voila! Shiny, near worthless pennies!
